This is an excellent product for a low budget. Simply connect your guitar and headphones (and plug in a CD or MP3 player if you want to play along to backing) and you're away.

There's a library of many different styles and effects - many of them suspiciously similar but that's a minor gripe! - so you'll be able to play just about any style that you fancy. It also includes a handy and accurate tuner, and a belt clip so you can wander around while playing.

Controls are fairly easy to understand; my only complaint is that the 'Drive' control doesn't register an adjustment until you've switched to another effect and then back to the effect whose Drive you were trying to alter.

As a novice guitarist, this given me hours of fun! I've had it for two years and no problems with it at all.

This is a nice looking little case. It is lined and has space for storage of smaller items. Very pleased with purchase but unfortunately the first case was damaged as was the replacement. It took until the 3rd case before we got one in good condition.

Bought this for my guitar loving 8yr old son. He was pleased to bits with it because it looks fab, though it is a bit heavy. Its incredibly strong my son has been doubling it up as step ladders in his room because he read on the label that you can stand on it and you can. Tough Durable protective all round great product.

Good company to deal with - knowledgeable and friendly. 3/4 cases not easy to find!

One problem however. Most cases have clips along one side and one on the bottom. This (as can be seen from the photo) has no clip at the base but has a clip on the other side. This clip does not open the case but has to be released before opening or it may be damaged.

Still a nice case though!

Came 2 days before it said it would which was brilliant, the guitar is awesome. Though I feel like there could be more instructions included in the actual package, the internet lessons were a year subscription instead of 6 months which is great but unfortunately I am finding the internet lessons hard to learn from as I need the correction from an actual person but the lessons are good, definately well worth it!

Not much I can say other than I love it. Have simply had hours of pleasure gently strumming away. Bought because an earlier reviewer said it was easy to play for a beginner. he was right.

I have an Alvarez RD8 acoustic dreadnaught and wanted to experiment with mixing my own playing and singing using an entry-level mixer, mike, and this device. It was sort of a "reality check" to see if anything sounded good enough to perform -- I'm still working on that part. The pickup was a pleasant surprise. It fit the sound hole perfectly. It's quite an experience to hear yourself "plugged in" for the first time. I'd recommend this pick-up to anyone who uses an plain acoustic and want to record or amplify their guitar. It's a good name brand, nice price, and of good quality constuction. I didn't experience and distortion or feedback problems and so far, the neighbors haven't complained either.

Proved a disappointment and has now been returned. We purchased this model and a different 'Encore' pack for xmas and the direct comparison really showed up the poor quality of this Rockburn model. The strap broke on day 1, the amp has awful feedback which did nothing to help the poor sound quality from the guitar. The last straw came when the zip broke on the case after 3 days. Don't waste your money - there are better alternatives for less than £100.

Perfect kit for a beginner, 3 Jan 2012

For the price, you can't really argue with this beginner's pack - except maybe to say there should be a better instruction manual. A red stratocaster-lookalike, a simple amp, case, strap, picks, strings and a tutorial DVD makes this a pretty good deal. If my son starts to take playing seriously he will need a better instrument, but until then I think this is pretty cool - and more to the point, so does he!!
